Rough Draft
Hello, fellow class mates and teacher. I am up here to discuss about the importance of supporting students who participate in after-school acticities. It is well known that KIS has many strict policies--unreasonable policies. Instead of coming up with rediculous policies every time something goes wrong, KIS should look at systems that aren’t going well and revise them or somehow improve them. The after-school policy was only made because one middle school student decided to fool around and hurt himself. If KIS is willing to make up an entire policy because of that one kid who got hurt, why won’t it change the after-school bus system that causes so much trouble for numerous students who stay after school? As most of us know, oiur after-school bus does not take all the students back to their houses. Instead they drop students off at random locations that are close to students’ houses--note, “close,” not “at”--and expects them to get home on their own from there. The school should support students, especially those who stay after school for activities, such as sports. However, the aftere-school bus system is rather discouraging and extremely frustrating for many students like myself. The after-school bus should take the student athletes all the way home after practices and home games.
Many students waste their time on the road transferring from bus to bus and this is exhasuting the students. For example, the students who live in Dongbu Ichon-dong waste at least seven and a half hours on the road going back home after practices or ames. Everyday, after their harsh practicces, these students ride the after-school bus that only takes them up to Apgu. From there, they either ride the subway home, which takes around little less than an hour to get home, or they ride a taxi home, which takes around thirty minutes and costs at least seven thousand won per ride.
Continuing on, there are too many people who don’t get a ride straight home. If it were only two or three students who can not get rides home, then I understand the bus administration. Why would they go through the trouble of making another after-school bus just for two or three people? However, there are way too many people who do not get their ride straight home. It does not make sense that they take Apgu people all the way home, but not Dongbu Ichon-don people. That just means the bus administration is being lazy.
Finally, our school is the only international school that does not provide proper after-school buses. YISS, SFS, SAHS, and SIS after-school buses take their students all the way back home after practices.
Fellow class mates, do you not agree that if our school provided proper after-school buses our lives won’t be easier? Do you not agree that it is the school bus’ duty to take students home after school? The after-school bus should take the student atheletes and other students all the way home after practices and home games because it will substantially affect our lives and make school life easier.
